Gwalior Fort, one of many in the country, proudly occupies the colossal rocky hill known as Gopachal. Crafted initially from a combination of sandstone and lime mortar, this fort reigns as one of Gwalior"s most distinguished landmarks. Its history stretches far back, marked by sieges and conquests by a procession of rulers throughout the ages. The impregnable bastion is a symbol of military might, and harbours a multitude of temples, each bearing the unique imprint of various kings from different eras. Today, the fort"s storied past shines through its splendid palaces, temples, gateways and walls. Visitors embark on a journey through time, reliving valorous battles, epic tales and the rise and fall of noble dynasties.
